SAQA – The SA Qualifications Authority held a number of workshops and conferences to discuss the future of RPL in the SA context.

RPL is where a the knowledge and skills a learner has acquired over the years can be formalized into credits towards a qualification or access to a qualification or further learning. RSC has been actively involved in this in the financial services industry. This has resulted in hundreds of being able to continue in the industry and study further and become truly “fit and proper advisers”.

This new policy will become the way forward for this in SA and our industry and SAQA are looking for comment from interested parties in the industry to comment on these policies before the 15 November 2012

RSC will sending in a report and you can send your comments to me at info@rscnet.co.za or mail them direct to SAQA at LNaude@saqa.co.za
