Qualification

The program we offer is a National Certificate: Wealth Management at NQF level 5 which is quality assured by INSETA and the SAQA ID is 57608 / 66611. The program we run is aimed a general practitioner financial planners who are registered with the FSB as CAT C, personal retirement and investments who provide a full range of financial planning advice. The qualification requires 120 credits to complete and our program covers 156 credits to ensure the full range of financial planning is covered.

BL: Naturally Accruing Evidence

One of the options we offer is an RPL ( Recognition of Prior Learning) assessment which is made up of a portfolio of evidence (based on naturally occurring evidence of real client files and documentation), an interview based on the content of the portfolio and a closed book, summative-assessment. This is only available to people who are very experienced in a wide range of financial planning which would include the full range of financial planning – protection planning, investment planning, estate planning, retirement planning and tax planning. It is limited to people who have 5 to 10 years of experience in the above areas of planning.

This is purely an assessment and we do not offer any tuition or learning interventions as the person being assessed should have developed this knowledge and skill over the years from past experience hence the title of RPL

BL: Self Study

For people with less or limited experience or those who do not qualify in time or level of knowledge we offer blended learning which blends RPL, self study, research of current affairs, completion of portfolio of evidence based on a practical case study or naturally occurring evidence, practice of skills in the workplace and telephonic coaching.   The learner is provided with a very large assignment to complete in the workplace, research projects and a case study to complete. This is submitted and assessed as the formative assessment and feedback is provided for resubmissions of sections if required.

The learner will receive feedback on this portfolio and may contact the assessor for explanation telephonically or by e-mail if required. There is a limit to the time allocated for each learner in this regard.

The learner will then write a closed book summative assessment under exam conditions as the final or summative assessment.

BL Facilitated or Full training program

At the other end of the spectrum, a full training program with classroom interventions, self-study, research, case studies is made available for learners new to the industry who have limited or little knowledge of the industry due to their lack of experience. The learner is provided with a very large assignment to complete in the workplace, research projects and a case study to complete. This is submitted and assessed as the formative assessment and feedback are provided for resubmissions of sections if required.

The learner will receive feedback on this portfolio and may contact the assessor for explanation telephonically or by e-mail if required. There is a limit to the time allocated for each learner in this regard.

The learner will then write a closed book summative assessment under exam conditions as the final or summative assessment.

RSC Pre-assessment or training needs analysis

We ascertain for a learner which of the above methods should be applied to a learner by getting all prospective learners to complete the pre-evaluation and pre-assessment sent to you as this is my “needs analysis” is used to ascertain which of these methods would best meet the needs of the learner. So if you would get your people to complete and submit these along with the documentation requested – ID, copies of credits or qualifications which must be certified.

We will be able to provide you with feedback as to which of these approaches would align with your needs. The costs would differ based on the type of program used, a number of credits currently held that can be applied to this qualification and the credits or experience that could be used in the RPL process.

Duration would range for 3 to 6 weeks assessment for RPL to a three to 6 month period for the blended learning process and 20 days in the classroom, periods of self-study and workplace assignments over a 12 to 18 month period for the full training program. Shorter programs can be organized if the skills and knowledge levels are present

Costs

Cost for the above solutions can range from R18 500 to R25 000 + VAT depending on the program being used and the number of credits to be completed.  This will be reduced further if the learner has existing credits from another provider.

We will advise the cost per learner once the needs analysis has been completed as the pricing will depend :

  • Number of credits being completed
  • Type of program being used – Full program, Self-study or RPL
  • Level of the learner’s knowledge and experience
